💼 Business
Fast, the online checkout startup, folded last week after many weeks of speculation over the state of its finances. The founder Domm Holland took the blame (and if you want to read more on him there is an NPR article all about it). This might be another case of a bad founder, overspending and a steep overvaluation. But it is also potentially an indicator that the global venture investment is cooling off. This article shows global venture funding dropped 19% from Q4 2021 to the first quarter of this year. So startups should heed the lessons on what to do and what not to do. Link.
✏️ Design
A pretty extensive list of how popular web apps handle their signup/user onboarding experiences. I say list, the author actually describes them as ‘teardowns’. So, to be more accurate, it’s an extensive list of how popular web apps badly handle their signup/user onboarding experiences. Which I prefer. Link.
🖥️ Technology
I was catching up with our lead frontend dev this week and he was raving about how Vue 3 allows you to use Typescript now and how you can write a simple global state management for it. Maybe raving is a strong word but he definitely likes it. Link.
🕹️ Cool stuff

Enjoy the rest of your week!
