💼 Business
Within the huge amounts of coverage on the Russia-Ukraine war, this piece caught my eye. A brief, but interesting, explanation of the Ukrainian internet infrastructure and how it was built to be robust and decentralised. Link.
✏️ Design
I was about to get annoyed with our lead designer because he has been too busy with his side project to post much content on Slack recently. Then I realised I should just post what he’s been working on. So say hello to Noco Agency - for websites and apps built with no-code tools for simplicity and ease of use. Link.
🖥️ Technology
Astro is a static site builder, promising a “powerful developer experience” with lightweight output. I (a simpleton) particularly like the bit where it will take a website built in React or Vue (plus Preact and Svelte if that’s your preference) and render everything to static HTML; 0 bytes of JS by default. Link. Plus direct Link to the ‘play’ section.
🕹️ Cool stuff
Talking of rendering your website to static HTML - this is the best explanation of why almost all website issues are created by us. While also being an exact visual representation of what I would do if asked to design a website. Link.
Very late to this party but I love a slow 8-bit browser game (if someone can remember that one where you had to defeat a dragon and disguise yourself by being smelly and on fire, lmk). This time you are a team of cats trying to escape your (now deceased) owners flat. Link.
Enjoy the rest of your week!
